A study conducted at the University of Minnesota School of Public Health in Minneapolis recently published in Obesity Research (not exactly a publication for your coffee table) reported that the average person gains 6-8 lbs over a two-year period after tying the knot. What does this say about marriages? The study revealed that the ‘togetherness’ in eating is why people gain weight in a marriage.

Interestingly, researchers also reported findings that individuals tend to lose weight after a divorce.
