A proposed reform in France could remove divorces from the judicial system into the hands of notaries as an attempt to mitigate the overcrowding courtrooms in France. This would also possibly help reduce the cost of divorce.
Some NY judges have even piqued interest in the story, as many have long been advocates of shrinking the queues to their courtrooms.

I think this is a great idea. I just recently started working for http://www.firstwivesworld.com which is an online community for women in all stages of divorce. I really had no idea the time and financial strain a divorce has on people. The court process alone is lengthy and draining, along with the major financial hassles. I have read many articles, tips, and blogs on our site in this very topic. I think that finding a better, less hassle, cheaper, and less lengthy was to mitigate is definitely a step in the right direction.
Just my two cents.
