A Wisconsin state legislator is making a case to extend the state’s divorce law to govern how divorcing parents handle the custody of their pets. Though saying little on why she introduced the bill, Republican Representative Sheryl Albers’ push for new pet laws is said to have surfaced from pet problems arising from her husband’s previous marriage.
Though numerous lawyers claim such problems are rare, is this bill a response to an overlooked issue of divorce or one woman’s response to a personal dilemma?

I couldn’t understand some parts of this article Custody Battles May Extend to Pets, but I guess I just need to check some more resources regarding this, because it sounds interesting.
