The Oscar-winning movie, Walk the Line, is about true love, but it’s also about divorce. Johnny Cash and June Carter met when they are both married to other people, though the movie doesn’t necessarily endorse adultery. Instead it takes a fairly benign perspective on their divorces. 

A key scene in the movie involves a woman confronting June Carter in a country store about her divorce. “Divorce is an abomination,” she tells her. “Marriage is for life.” Yet, the movie looks down at knee jerking characters who look down at divorce.
