Sen. Boseman is behind a new law, Senate Bill 30, that allows domestic violence victims to change their name privately. Up until this new law, victims had to publicly disclose they were changing their name. Now it’s a sealed file.

Some argue people may try to abuse this privacy protection rule. Advocates, however, say this new law will help thousands of victims.
