Domestic violence victims in North Carolina applying for protective orders will receive a handout from the state on how to get a gun, under a new law beginning October 1, 2005.
Governor Easley asked lawmakers to amend the bill this week, but the House refused. Victim advocates said they will work to get additional information provided in the handout to give victims more well rounded advice.
